Feb 16, 2018 Update

The construction site will be closed down this weekend, including Monday, for Presidents’ Day.

The installation of our deep foundation will continue to be a 24-hour a day operation as the type of foundation that is being installed requires that rebar and concrete be set immediately after these shafts are drilled down to bedrock. This work will be most noticeable at various times over the next 6 weeks when the drilled foundations are installed on the 1st Street site. Neighbors should notice a reduction in noise starting around mid-March.

In late February, we will begin installing overhead pedestrian and vehicular protection on Ecker between Jessie and Mission Street next to the work site. This will require the full closure of Ecker to vehicular traffic for two weekends during the day. Ecker will continue to remain open to pedestrians at all times. Once the timeline is confirmed, notification regarding timing will be posted.

Over the next several weeks, Oceanwide’s contractors will continue the installation of the perimeter shoring wall on First Street. This work requires large steel beams to be delivered to the site for the next several weeks. The San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency (SFMTA) requires that all oversized deliveries occur between midnight and 5:00 am so the beams will be delivered during these hours. Every effort will be made to minimize the impacts to all neighbors during this time.

Dec 21, 2017 Update

Happy Holidays!  Oceanwide’s contractors will not be working the evening of December 23rd through the morning of December 26th and the evening of December 29th through the morning of January 2nd.

Oceanwide’s contractors will continue drilled pile work at the 1st Street site. Unfortunately, this will continue to be a 24-hour-a-day operation as the type of foundation that is being installed requires that rebar and concrete be set immediately after these shafts are drilled down to bedrock. We will continue our best efforts to limit the impacts of this work on the neighborhood, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Oceanwide’s contractors will continue installation of the perimeter shoring wall on the First Street site and is now on Stevenson and Ecker.

Oceanwide’s contractors will continue minor demolition work on the southern part of Ecker Street between Mission and Elim. This work is preparation for installing overhead protection that is required for safe pedestrian passage down Ecker during construction.

During this time, please feel free to contact the project’s general superintendent, Dave Thompson, directly at (406) 580-0152 or the 24-Hour hotline at (415) 746-9948.

Nov 29, 2017 Update

Oceanwide’s contractors will continue installation of the perimeter shoring wall on the First Street site immediately east of 1 Ecker along Stevenson Street. While this work continues, the temporary overhead pedestrian safety protection will remain in place on the south side of Stevenson.

Drilled pile work will transition over to the First Street site in the coming month.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by night work and we will continue to make every effort to mitigate the impact to our neighbors.

Oct 27, 2017 Update

The temporary overhead pedestrian safety protection has been installed on the south side of Stevenson. We expect that it will remain there for the next several weeks.

Last week’s update noted that work would begin on the perimeter shoring wall this past Monday. Oceanwide had additional prep work to complete and this work did not begin as planned. The work will begin Monday, October 30. Oceanwide’s contractors will install the perimeter shoring wall on the First Street site immediately east of 1 Ecker. This work will require large steel beams to be delivered to the site for the next several weeks. The San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency (SFMTA) requires that all oversized deliveries occur between midnight and 5:00 am so the beams will be delivered during these hours. Aug 28, 2017 Update

Oceanwide or its designated contractors will continue prep work for backfilling soil against the basement wall on the east side of One Ecker. The prep work protects the recently installed waterproofing and the structural integrity of the basement wall. Protection and backfilling will continue during daytime work hours for the rest of the month. We had originally anticipated that the backfilling would begin in August, but the expected start date has been moved to late September. One Ecker residents and other impacted neighbors will be further notified before Oceanwide begins backfilling in this area.

Oceanwide’s contractors will continue installing foundation piles for the Mission Street Tower until late fall. This work will require some additional night work. Unfortunately, this is a 24-hour-a-day operation, as the type of foundation that is being installed requires that rebar and concrete be set immediately after these shafts are drilled down to bedrock. We will continue to make every effort to limit the impact of this work, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Demolition of building 78 is complete.
